darkness will be about
and stay for a while
wondering what will happen
when the day arrives of what
I had seen in the still of the night
its eyes so dead
looking at me in amazement
it thought I didn't know, but I knew
where the night had been
knocking on 'Devil's Door'
something I had seen
in the still of the night
still living, still alive
I made it through
the still of the night
