het gaat niet goed, echt niet goed
als de tijd aan je tafel mee eet
jouw toekomst wordt donker
en jouw licht verbleekt
toch je probeert en tast
jouw licht, het gaat uit
liggend op je rug denk je 'wat nu '
en het lijkt wel een leven lang
dat het duurt
licht, ergens daar, ergens verderop
stemmen, ze zoeken, voelen naar je
strekken hun geluid
je denkt, 'shit 'ik heb het gered
ziet gezichten, vrienden, familie
ze stralen
één gedachte tuimelt maar door je
hoofd...

the road ahead is dark
your light is shining dim
still...you are trying
reaching out
the lights go out
and you are lying on your back
wondering what is next
seems a lifetime you are there
a light is up ahead
voices, trying to get to you
and you realise you made it
you pulled yourself through
friendly faces, happiness, laughter
and family appear, reaching for you
feeling so alive, still kicking
yes, you are still there
you are good
