Somewhere between Dawn and Midnight

So,...I rounded a corner or two

never looking back, movin' on

remisniscing not my style

I'm out for forever time

said, "you'll be sorry'

somewhere down the line

a smile said, 'NO'

so sorry I was right

somewhere down the line

again I made my mark

earned my place in life

killin' time

so now I'm just killin' time

a Scotch on the rocks

feelin' so right

do I think about her

sometimes, somewhere

between Dawn and Midnight

not often

there were the good times

Elke keer als ik val, gedicht naar het muziek nummer You raise me up

daar staat zij dan

mijn steun mijn toeverlaat

immer sterk, immer stavast

wanneer het leven mij ontglipt

is zij mijn stuwende kracht

ook als het mij weer vast pakt

zij beurt mij elke keer op als ik val

omvat mij met haar liefde

die mij altijd weer verrast

en mij,...

dan ook weer terugzet op het pad

dat het leven 

voor mij uitgetekend had

mijn steun mijn toeverlaat

immer sterk, immer stavast

ik zing haar mijn waardering

voor de waarde

die zij in mijn leven bracht

zij beurt mij op, elke keer als ik val,...

Het zoet van de overwinning

als dan het donker 

van de wolken zich samenpakt

zijn donderslagen zich uitrollen 

en de bliksem inslaat

de regen jouw toekomst kastijd

lijf en leden ranselt

en,...daarin voluit gaat

zelfs de adem

van jouw zelfvertrouwen even stokt

maar,...

ondanks alles

de bliksem en de donderslagen

achter zich laat

hoe zoet is dan, na de pijn,...

de overwinning

als

uiteindelijk het leven

toch weer voor jou kiest

en,...

met jou verder gaat

as the morning's coming down on me

love's gone past its point of no return

and never made it into the day of light

the night has played out the words not said

and a decision has arrived

Loyal

The man said to his wife, I love dogs

they're faithful, loyal and never leave

that's why I love you, the next day

he was divorced,...he wondered why.

I've seen the fire

I've seen its pain and I've seen its rain

I've seen its death and I've seen it fade

Doubt of my fears and my desires

when again I'm on that endless road in my mind

build by my desires driving in a high speed chase

on a round about, looking for an exit, not about

to lose the doubts of my fears and my desires

in some empty dusty lane, in the aftermath

of a mental fire,... its flames desire 

to burn me down, yet I've put

my fearless thoughts at work

as they extinguish this

imminent threat

Time

I'm gonna run and run  

'cause my time is running out of time

I've been runnin', runnin' most of my life

to beat it to the draw, to beat it to the finish line

so,...now I have discovered

I can no longer run,...running time 

out of its ending time

I've got to accept, my time's stopped running

and it is calling, steadily walking away

to the end of its line

still,...I haven't lost, 'cause,...

when I reach the finish line

and my eternity awaits me

time will have become endless

and it's running, is no more requiered 

to beat infinite time

Space an' peace

he sits in his chair in his silence

wondering what the world's about

to bring him in his solitude

he knows it might be very little

but in life it's the little things not

the grand gestures that count

they will take you further up your mountain

of progress than anything else in life that will be around

solitude is not an hindrance it is a way to grow in your

spiritual existence

it will bring and give you your so much needed

space an' peace a peace each and every man in

his life needs
