Love can hurt

it's been a while love found me and
left me behind, years have come and
passed me by, it's been a while love
found me and gave me its smile

sometimes, sweet an' kind, rough
or smooth 'round the edges an' then
again maybe just a smile

love can hurt an' leave over night,
it's been some time love found me
and gave me its smile

it's been a while, love came to town and
spend with me some time, then leaves,
its time over due, lost inside, it's been
a while, love smiled and gave me some
of its time

still that smile
It's been a while
since I knew
there was a you

I'll never know
who you are
a face in a frame
a face
without a name

it makes me happy
to look at you
one I never knew
but you're there
all I do is stare
at you
in that frame
without a name
