A fairytale

once upon a time there were
those happy people who cared
for each other

for their values and rules that
were fair, they lived the good
life

where the young took care of
the old and the old shared the
knowledge of life they had

now a change had come to them
where the old were just old and
the young they didn't care

and yet didn't see or did see but
this change had come to be
complete

still thinkin' it was the best they
had its foundation crumpled and
left them livin' the lie

of a fairytale, livin' the life of
something that was no longer
there

actually this fairytale it has no
happy end their civilization
it died overnight

sadly there is no one left to
know it was even ...there !

Scent of a woman

just two people passin' by in a lonely room
full of happy people, she was leavin' with
a smile

a scent of a woman lookin' for somethin'
she just couldn't find and I saw her go off
into her dark cloak of the night

wondering, would I have stopped, would
I have paid attention to that faint scent of
a woman

so close, so near waitin' for me to take her
away into the still of this night, would she
then not have passed me by

I failed, I wasn't prepared we were just
passers by

a restless time
has come to an end
I am content
I'm ev'rything
I could ever be
it's been a long time
since I knew

I haven't changed
still the same
still that smile
It's been a while
since I knew
there was a you

I'll never know
who you are
a face in a frame
a face
without a name

it makes me happy
to look at you
one I never knew
but you're there
all I do is stare
at you
in that frame
without a name
