when the night is lonely embracing its stars

when its dawn is breaking embracing the morning

with its scars

will we relive our mistakes as again the night

and when we do wil we meet the dawn and its morning

without its scars

where is all the love
does it lie in the past
tell me you once cared
tell me once you shared

don't tear me down
leave something for me
bring me back my dawn
leave some future in me

you wanted to dance
you had your chance
you didn't take it
you just wanted to dance

so don't tear me down
leave this sad ol' house
leave me in one piece
leave me the air I breathe

leavin' doesn't mean
you've put out the light
a flame might falter but
never ceases to shine

At Dawn

I feel air 

touch my fingers 

spread over my body 

notice my age

blood rushin' 

through my veins 

almost awake
at dawn

my dreams 

fly away

respiration grows

I sense the world 

returnin' to me 

suddenly I move

open my eyes

commit my life 

to the world

at dawn

I'm yet 

unable to rise

night's 

clingin' like a cloak 

I shake it, shape it, fold it 

throw it away

I'm alive 

at dawn

I see the walls 

that surround me

so familiar
so trustin' 

in their need 

to protect me 

from reality 

closin' in 

at dawn

I bathe

water trickles 

down my spine 

it's pleasant 

a freshness within

dressin' with care

one glance 

in the mirror

it's all there

at dawn

ready for a new day
its challenges

its surprises

its disappointments,
its difficulties 

its beauty

born 

from the womb

dawn is

at the crack of dawn, a silent mist
covers the fields, it is there nature
roams

it is my home I will take you there
to this kinfdom o' mine if you care
taste how it feels

maybe you'll be my queen
