with the problems they bear

brought on by all those wrong turns

in your life

waiting to be cast away

with all their sadness inside

a promise of a new tomorrow is waiting

where time will try to fit you in

at this stage in your life

with a changed mind

it was a rose
that took away my love
and left her thorn in my heart

Stone cold

I'm cold desperately cold
does it show I really don't know
but I'm cold desperately cold
does it show I really don't know

since she's gone I'm kickin' doors
runnin' into walls placing lost calls
and I'm cold lost my feelin' and hope
I'm not he same man since she left

and I'm cold desperatly cold
keepin' my head up but the heat
doesn't hold it burns out grows old
leavin' me the ashes

guess...I'm stone cold

Lost in a smile

an' I see her comin' with a smile
on her face a laugh in her eyes
and I, I was lost inside

so when she left I was lost, lost
in a smile I knew never would be
mine now it's been many years
an' ev'ry mornin'

standin' on the porch I see her
comin'  hear her laugh in the wind
see that smile on her face

stoppin' right in front of me lookin'
at me with her famous laugh an' smile
sayin' to me

'I've come to see you again' and
she sees me smile but that's just
me dreamin'

starin' into the distance lookin'
for something that will not be
an' ev'ry mornin'

I see her comin' hear her laugh
see that smile upon her face and
yes I know I'm only dreamin' lost
in a smile

time our own

'cause we came so close

Nowhere

sittin' here waitin' on a train
goin' somewhere into nowhere
'cause goin' nowhere is the only
place left for me to try

memorisin' the good life I had gone
somewhere out there without givin' me
a reason without explainin'

the 'don't knows' or the 'why's I'm lost
in a situation where you're waitin' on a
train goin' into nowhere

to go

The long goodbye

when you left for no reason with all that anger inside
you left but you never left us comin' in like an angel
leavin' with a lie but on your ride of the long good bye
you never left us you just had something on your mind

and I know some sweet day I will hear that ol' familiar
knock from way back in time and I'll know you've come
back from your ride on the long good bye with that same
ol' lie never admitting you just couldn't leave us behind
